Wider viewing angle
    In addition, the use of high-performance brightness enhancement film solutions also play a positive role in the TV viewing angle. Because the technical principle of the high-efficiency brightness enhancement film is to make the polarized light reflect in the backlight module until it penetrates the glass. The backlight module that uses the brightness enhancement film improves the brightness by about 30% compared with the module that does not usually use the optical film. Because the high-efficiency brightness enhancement film is different from the usual prism film, it does not need to sacrifice the viewing angle to increase the brightness, so such a high-efficiency brightness enhancement film is very much expected by domestic and foreign TV manufacturers. The area of LCD TV is getting bigger and bigger, and consumers are beginning to have certain requests for viewing angle. A 47” LCD TV with over 10,000 inches is placed in the center of the living room. Of course, the head of the household hopes that guests sitting at any point of view can enjoy the same quality TV screen.

Energy saving
    Of course, the masses can most directly experience the advantages of edge-lit LED backlights, that is, the overall energy consumption of the TV decreases. Generally, 32" LED backlight TVs usually consume 80W at the current level. This level is equivalent to level 3 in the country’s latest power efficiency specifications.

     If manufacturers want to improve TV energy consumption specifications, there are many corresponding solutions, but the use of high-efficiency brightness enhancement film should be the simplest and direct and effective way to improve energy consumption. If we cooperate with high-performance brightening film, the energy consumption can be reduced by about 20%-30% under the same brightness level (after all, it depends on the skills of each brand). From a numerical calculation, the energy consumption of the TV can basically be improved from 80W to 60W through the high-performance brightening film. The improvement of energy consumption not only allows manufacturers to cooperate vigorously with the national environmental protection policy, but also slightly assists consumers in related electricity bills.

    From the above technical analysis, we can see that the edge-lit backlight design has great advantages for manufacturers and consumers. In the near future, edge-lit single-sided single LEDs must be the ultimate destination of LED backlights.

As a result, a new partially dimmable matrix backlight plan that links the advantages of direct and side-by-side technologies has emerged, and has become a key research direction for backlight manufacturers.
